General Properties:

Cyclosporine is used in combination with other medicines (eg, azathioprine, steroid medicines) to prevent the body from rejecting a transplanted organ (eg, kidney, liver, or heart). It belongs to a group of medicines known as immunosuppressive agents.

Indication:

In solid organ transplantation, it has clinical use to treat organ rejection in kidney, liver, and heart allogeneic transplants. In patients with rheumatoid arthritis, it is indicated when the disease has not adequately responded to methotrexate.
